Blennervelle Windmill

Blennerville Windmill is a tower mill located in the village of Blennerville, County Kerry, Ireland. It was built in the early 19th century and was used to grind corn until the early 20th century.

The windmill was built around 1820 and is one of the largest in Ireland, with four floors and a 20-meter-high tower. It was used to grind corn for local residents, and its location near the Tralee Ship Canal made it an important landmark for ships entering the port of Tralee.

In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the windmill fell into disrepair and was abandoned. In the 1980s, a group of local residents formed the Blennerville Windmill Society and began restoring the windmill to its former glory. The restoration was completed in 1991 and the windmill was opened to the public as a tourist attraction.

Today, Blennerville Windmill is a popular tourist destination and a symbol of the local community's commitment to preserving its heritage. Visitors can tour the windmill and learn about its history, as well as enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding countryside.
